NFL Free Agency starts on March 9th, and the next few days will feature several Washington Redskins rumors. While free agency doesn't officially start until Wednesday, Monday and Tuesday are "legal tampering" days. That means teams can discuss contracts with any player, although a deal can't be signed until Wednesday. With that in mind, here are a few of the more interesting rumors and news tidbits on the Redskins.
Chris Long A Target?
Long, recently cut by the Los Angeles Rams, will be making his first visit this week. And it will be with the Washington Redskins.

While Long struggled the past two seasons, he has proven himself as a 4-3 DE in the past. That makes him a curious fit in the Redskins' 3-4 scheme, and it's unclear if Long would shift to 3-4 DE or as a 3-4 OLB.
Junior Galette Wants To Return?
The Redskins signed Galette last year after he was cut by the Saints. It a risk, as Galette didn't part on happy terms with New Orleans. The Redskins didn't get anything from Galette as he tore his Achilles before the start of the regular season. However, Galette wants to return to Washington.
OLB Junior Galette has hired Drew Rosenhaus to represent him. Still hoping to return to Redskins, who also have right of first refusal.

How much Galette will cost is unknown, but he shouldn't be too expensive given that he's coming off an injury.
Redskins Cut RGIII
The Redskins have officially cut Robert Griffin III. While the team was holding out hope for a trade of the QB, that was a long-shot. The inevitable move to cut Griffin saves the team over $16 million in cap space next season. It's not the only cut the Redskins made Monday.
Washington Dumps Several Others
The Redskins cut several other players Monday. Among the cuts are DE Jason Hatcher, S Dashon Goldson and S Jeron Johnson. The release of those three players saves the team at least $13 million in cap space. Hatcher and Goldson were both starters last season. The Redskins have a few other potential cap cuts, so they might not be done making moves yet.
