The 2018 NFL schedule won't be released for a few more months, but with their opponents already known, the Washington Redskins have a tough road ahead of them if they want to return to the playoffs after a multi-year absence. These are the five hardest games that will likely stand between the Redskins and a postseason berth:
5) vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys could have very well been in the postseason if Ezekiel Elliott didn't have to miss six games due to suspension, and with him back, Dallas is thought to be Philadelphia's biggest threat in the NFC East. As we've seen, this game could have major, major wild card implications.
4) vs. Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta is one of the favorites in the NFC again in 2018 due to their explosive offense and a young defense that continues to improve. This could be the biggest test for Washington's secondary - and we'll get to see the great Julio Jones-Josh Norman rivalry.
3) at Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville is expected to build on their run to the AFC Championship Game next season and, if they get quality quarterback play out of Blake Bortles, may be the best team in the league. Alex Smith and Washington's revamped offense will be tested against that vaunted secondary and pass rush.

2) at New Orleans Saints
The Saints were a miracle play away from going to the NFC Championship game last season and should be even better in 2018. Quarterback Drew Brees broke the NFL completion record this past season, completing an incredible 72% of his passes, but their strength was their ground game as Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram each totaled over 1,500 total yards of offense. Facing them in the Superdome won't do any favors for the Redskins, either.
1) at Philadelphia Eagles
Let's face it, traveling to Lincoln Financial Field to face the defending Super Bowl champs will be the toughest game for the Redskins next season. Before suffering a season-ending injury, quarterback Carson Wentz was a leading MVP candidate and this Eagles defense is one of the best units in the league. They will test Washington in all phases of the game.
