The letter to the editor you're about to see is terrible for so many reasons, it's insane the writer managed to fit everything into ten sentences. Unless this is satire on such a high level that no one can tell it's actually satire (which would mean 'R.L. Abramson' is some kind of twisted genius), the bar for 'hot sports takes' has officially been raised.
The Washington Senators played their last MLB season in 1971. It's possible (but unlikely) that Mr. Abramson meant to refer to the NHL's Ottawa Senators, but that would kind of hurt his logic since they play in Canada.
