Redskins news has had an exciting and unpredictable offseason so far in free agency, but today's news concerns the re-signing of a stabilizing defensive influence who has played for the Washington Redskins, and the Washington Redskins alone, for the first six years of his NFL career.
Per the Associated Press, the Washington Redskins have re-signed linebacker Rob Jackson with financials and terms yet undisclosed
Rob Jackson was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft, steadily working himself into a bigger defensive role as the years have gone on.
Jackson has appeared in 54 regular season contests in his six years with the Washington Redskins, making just 15 starts during that time frame. However, he provides a keen knowledge of the Redskins' defensive system, and needed depth in the Redskins' front seven.
Jackson appeared in 12 games for the 3-13 Washington Redskins last season, starting just once. He posted eight tackles, eleven assists, two sacks, and one interception in limited playing time.
