After one of the biggest pre-draft trades in recent Redskin history, the Redskins and Robert Griffin III seem to be destined to join forces. While many people feel the Redskins paid too much for the opportunity to draft a franchise-changing player like Griffin III, I am happy to see the team take a chance on greatness.
Luckily for the Indianapolis Colts, they seem set on Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. I say this only because earlier this week, Griffin III's agent came out and said his client wasn't interested in working out for the Colts.
This denial would lead me to believe that Griffin III would rather not don the Colt-blue and white.
This is just fine with me: it's not too often the Redskins organization has the opportunity to draft a Heisman winner, a winner who beat out the projected #1 overall pick (Andrew Luck) in this years 2012 NFL Draft.
Since our acquisition of the 2nd overall pick in this year's draft, the Redskins front office showed a commitment to our new quarterback: signing new wide receivers in hopes of giving Griffin III (or Luck) quality people to throw to.
These new receivers, Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan, come to the Redskins bringing a winning style of play: Garcon, in 2011 when Peyton Manning was healthy, and Morgan this past year with the resurgent San Francisco 49ers.
Garcon easily had the better season this past year catching 6 touchdowns and racking up close to 1000 yards. Still, his youth and notorious drops have been aggravating at times.

As of right now, the immediate receiving core consists of the aforementioned two, in addition to Santana Moss, Jabar Gaffney (947 yards, 5 TDs), Fred Davis, and Chris Cooley. While there is no proven superstar, save a healthy Chris Cooley, a rookie quarterback often has been asked to do more with less.
Yes, next year will be tough at times with a new quarterback at the helm; Redskins fans are used to tough times.
But this is also another year in which management seems to be in tune with the needs of the team: not only signing wide receivers, but also addressing our needs in the secondary (although the signings in the secondary will only create depth, as none of their resumes prove them to be significant game changers).
Like I've said before, the Redskins are moving in the right direction. I also understand that because of how poorly the Redskins have played over the past few seasons, fans want an instantaneous turnaround--hang in there Redskin fans, good things come to those who wait.
Get ready for a franchise quarterback in this year's draft, that should be something worth putting faith in.
