After a first half that saw both Robert Griffin III and DeSean Jackson exit the game with injuries, the Redskins still managed to put together an impressive win over Jacksonville.
Halftime Quick Hitters: Redskins Lead Jaguars 21-7
Here's what we learned from this one:
Washington Is Kirk Cousins' Team Now, For Better Or Worse
Robert Griffin III's ankle injury looks serious, and early tests indicate a season-ending fracture is likely. Kirk Cousins looks capable under center (although the Jacksonville secondary might not be the best measuring stick), and this is now his offense to lead.
It's Time For Jacksonville To Start Blake Bortles
The offensive line in Jacksonville isn't doing Chad Henne any favors, but he was far from impressive against a raw Washington secondary. With nothing happening on offense and nothing to lose, Jacksonville needs a spark, and every game Bortles spends on the bench is another wasted opportunity to give their QB of the future some valuable game experience.
Washington's Offense Looked Fantastic
You can't draw any real conclusions with this small of a sample size, but Washington's offense absolutely torched the Jags for 449 total yards. RB Alfred Morris, WR Niles Paul and rookie RB Silas Redd all impressed.
It's Shaping Up To Be Another Long Season In Jacksonville
The Jags might have some solid pieces for the future, but this team is a looked absolutely abysmal today against a Washington squad they were expected to hang with. WR Allen Robinson is going to be a big-time NFL receiver, and the sooner he can start building chemistry with Blake Bortles, the better Jacksonville will do in the long run.
