This is not the first time a player has been injured in a pizza-related incident. Former Lions wideout Nate Burleson broke his arm in a car accident caused by him trying to save a pizza that was sliding from the seat of his car.
Washington has already had to deal with a variety of injuries to key players. Quarterback Robert Griffin III will start on Sunday after missing most of the season with an ankle injury, while linebacker Brian Orakpo is out for the season after tearing a pectoral muscle.
The Redskins are 3-5 this season and will face the Vikings on Sunday.
