Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden announced Monday that quarterback Colt McCoy, not Kirk Cousins, would be the starter until Robert Griffin III is cleared to return from his ankle injury.
Jay Gruden says Colt McCoy will get starter reps this week; can't rule out RG3 for Monday at Dallas but he "needs to be 100%".

This move doesn't come as a big surprise, as Cousins failed to impress coaches, players, and fans alike in his five starts this season. He was pulled for McCoy in the second half of their game against the Tennessee Titans this weekend, in which McCoy led the Redskins to a comeback victory.
However, this is disappointing due to the fact that there was talk about Cousins potentially keeping the starting job from Griffin as little as a few weeks ago, but now he's shown he isn't a starter-level quarterback.
Washington's next game is next Monday night against the 6-1 Dallas Cowboys.
