The Washington Redskins will have plenty of options to choose from in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft when they hit the clock at #5. However, there’s just a select few guys who’ll be at the top of the team’s wishlist heading into the festivities in Chicago. Here’s our list of 3 Players The Washington Redskins Are Likely To Draft In The 1st Round.
DE Dante Fowler Jr. - Florida
The Washington Redskins are in need of a versatile, young playmaker in the pass rusher, and Fowler fits that description to near perfection. He's an absolute beast in space, using hip fluidity and a nice first step to blow past blockers and cause havoc. Fowler's 6'3", 261-pound frame is packed with lean muscle, and he's got all the athletic tools to be a game-changer for Washington for years to come.
OLB Vic Beasley - Clemson
Here's another explosive pass rusher to consider. Beasley has an instinctual timing mechanism when it comes to hitting full momentum right off the snap, and his ability to torque his hips and shoulders and dip through blocks makes him a dangerous threat off the edge. A former running back, Beasley is deceptively quick and has the ability to turn on a dime and explode through ball carriers from a variety of angles.
S Landon Collins - Alabama
Washington's secondary would benefit from a safety of Collins' ilk. He sports maturity beyond his years on the football field, and his smarts both in press coverage and on the run against wide receivers makes him dangerous in a variety of situations. You can't intimidate Collins, and that innate toughness is something that Jay Gruden and the rest of Washington's decision makers are likely to covet.
