Caps defender Christian Djoos signed a 1-year, $1.25 million contract today. This is great news not only for the Caps, but for media members who love making puns, like ‘Djoos is Loose’ and ‘Djoos Scores a Deuce’ and other groan-worthy rhymes.
The salary was based on what an independent arbitrator came up with.
Djoos, 24, is a native of Gothenburg, Sweden. He’s won a Stanley Cup with the Caps but hasn’t yet become an every-day player. He played 45 games last season, scoring once and adding 9 assists. He was a seventh round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, 195th overall.
