This past week, the Capitals enjoyed the backend of a season long five-game home stand as well as a trip to Toronto, winning five in a row and taking over the Metropolitan Division lead with a game in hand.
A few things caught my eye this week, starting with Karl Alzner. I have noticed Alzner is jumping into the rush more often, but lucky not to get burned in the process.
Secondly, even though the Caps are winning, we miss Brooks Orpik. Orpik, although not known for his offense, is a great puck mover.
