Marcus Johansson’s big deal:
Well, last week was the most eventful the Washington Capitals have had since the draft. By that, I mean that they focused their efforts on re-signing forward Marcus Johansson, which they finally got done. The forward agreed with the Caps to a three year deal that was worth $13.75 million overall. This was important due to the fact that Johansson was a valuable contributor to Washington’s power play last season.
The Capitals could not afford to lose a player of Johansson’s caliber, as he was responsible for 46 points (17 goals, 29 assists) last season in his sixth season with the team.
