The Washington Capitals suffered their first loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, at least this gives the team their first chance to bounce back.
After starting the season with a two game sweep of the Buffalo Sabres, the Capitals were given their first real test of 2021. In a matchup of two pillars of the former Metropolitan Division, this certainly delivered on what is thought to be a season full of playoff type games. The Penguins would finish on top at the conclusion of a shootout against the Capitals with a 4-3 win.
