When the Washington Capitals signed defenseman Taylor Chorney in free agency last offseason, not many people would have predicted that he would see a significant amount of ice time. As it turned out, Chorney made a bit of a name for himself by filling in nicely while injuries hit the Caps’ defensive corps.
2015-16 Regular Season
Taylor Chorney had a grand total of 73 NHL games under his belt heading into the 2015-16 season with the Washington Capitals. The defender ended up playing 55 games this season, scoring one goal and adding five assists.
Chorney only saw 13:11 of ice time per game in his first season with the Capitals, but looked every bit of a top-six defenseman when called upon.
