On Tuesday a report came out from Bill Geuerin about the Minnesota Wild buying out the contracts of the final four seasons of forward Zach Parise and defenseman Ryan Suter. Another report from Sportsnet Elliotte Friedman’s 31 Thoughts podcast, indicated that the Washington Capitals are a potential suitor for Suter.
Suter and Parise each signed identical 13 year, $98 million dollar contracts back on July 4, 2012 which included a cap hit or average annual value (AAV) of $7.54 million. The contract buyouts mean that the players will be unrestricted free agents on July 28.
