The Washington Capitals rookies came into today with a chance to close out the Estero Tournament with a win. Instead, they lost to the Nashville Predators rookies 4-2. The Washington Capitals finished the Estero Tournament with a record of 1-1-1.

Vitek Vanecek and his defensemen began the game having a tough time getting the puck out of the Washington Capitals end during the first period. The problem was exacerbated by the Predators aggressive forechecking and sound positioning to intercept passes. A double-minor high-sticking penalty against Nashville’s Eric Robinson gave the Capitals an extended shot at their man-advantage.
