The young Czech forward held the number one spot in our preseason prospect rankings, and for good reason.
Czech forward Jakub Vrana is undoubtedly the number one prospect for the Washington Capitals. Drafted 13th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft, Vrana has progressed significantly and is emerging as a potential game-breaking talent moving forward.
Vrana stock rose after strong performances over the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons with the Linköping HC’s 20 and under squad in the SuperElit league of the Czech Republic. He scored 20 goals and added 12 assists in 32 games in 2013, and then 14 goals and 11 assists in 24 games the following season.
