The Washington Capitals’ season came to an abrupt and disappointing end once again this week, but that doesn’t mark the end of the road for some of the world’s best players.
The IIHF World Championships are being held in Russia this year, making it easy for the Capitals’ Russian stars Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Dmitry Orlov to drop in and represent their homeland on their way back home for the summer.
Kuznetsov and Orlov had a lackluster postseason for the Washington Capitals on the scoresheet, but they are already putting on quite a show at the annual international tournament that coincides with the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
