The Washington Capitals just wrapped up a four-game week that featured three home games at Verizon Center. The Caps picked up wins in all of them and currently have a nine-game win streak. Three road games await this week, so if the Capitals want to keep the streak alive they will have to play quality hockey away from home.
Up first is rematch with Pittsburgh Monday night. The two bitter rivals just played on January 11 at Verizon Center. The Caps dominated from the start and won 5-2. Alexander Ovechkin, who always has a flair for the dramatic, scored 35 seconds into the contest for the 1,000th point of his career.
