The Washington Capitals have come a long way since their first season in 1974. The Capitals have grown from an expansion team to a consistent playoff contender. Traditionally they have been known more for their defense than their offense. However, over the years, they’ve been blessed with some extremely special goal scorers. They’ve rarely had more than one at the same time, which is part of the reason why they have never won a Stanley Cup.
