The Hershey Bears dropped the first two games of the Atlantic Division Finals (second round) of the Calder Cup playoffs to the Charlotte Checkers on the road. The series shifted to Giant Center in Hershey but not even the home ice advantage made the difference for the Washington Capitals AHL affiliate.
The Checkers, like their parent club the Carolina Hurricanes, came away with a 3-0 series lead at the end of the night with the 3-1 victory.
The Bears had an early lead but Charlotte tied it in the second period and scored twice in the third.
