The Washington Capitals aren’t the only Metropolitan Division team that has improved over this off-season. The Columbus Blue Jackets have also improved and they look to build off a strong finish to their 2014-2015 season. After an injury-filled season, the Blue Jackets look to compete with the Washington Capitals for a coveted playoff spot.

Despite leading the NHL in games lost due to injuries, Columbus finished last season with a respectable 42-35-5 record, good for 89 points. This was not due to a lack of trying, however. Columbus put up a great fight beginning in March, going 16-4-1 over the final 21 games.
