The Washington Capitals look to wrap up the Presidents’ Trophy tonight when they host the down-and-out Columbus Blue Jackets. The Caps look to avoid losing consecutive regulation games, still, for the first time all season after Saturday’s 4-0 lost to the St. Louis Blues.
The Jackets were last seen getting shellacked by the Nashville Predators 5-1. They were outshot 48-19 in that ungodly loss and overall are losers of six of their last eight.
The Caps also lost by a four-goal margin to a Central Division team but the game was much closer than the score would indicate.
