A 6-1 Washington Capitals victory in game three over the Philadelphia Flyers did not go without controversy.
After defenseman Brooks Orpik left the game midway through the second period after a hard check by Flyers forward Ryan White, it was only a matter of time before things headed south.
As the Caps continued to extend their lead over the Flyers in the third period, forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare checked Dmitry Orlov hard from behind on the forecheck, resulting in a nasty collision with the boards that left the Russian defender down for several moments.
