Washington Capitals center Evgeny Kuznetsov would lead the team to its fifth consecutive win and a perfect ending to their first road trip of the season. Kuznetsov got his first NHL hat trick and added two assists for an incredible five point night. After seven games through the season thus far, we’re witnessing the birth of a superstar in Kuznetsov.
Both backup goaltenders, Philipp Grubauer and Anders Nilsson hada a busy night. Three minutes into the match, Kuznetsov lifted a beautiful backhand shot after a tic-tac-toe pattern from Oshie and Ovechkin up the wing.
