Nicklas Backstrom and Braden Holtby will make their first NHL All-Star Game appearances on January 31st when they represent the Metropolitan Division.
Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom has finally been voted into an All-Star Game, something that had eluded him in his career despite arguably having several seasons worthy of selections. He will be joined by Caps goalie Braden Holtby, who will also make his first appearance. The NHL released their full list of teams earlier today.
Both of these Capitals will join their captain, Alex Ovechkin, who will be captaining the Metro Division squad in his sixth All-Star Game appearance.
