(Caps Outsider)
Early in the game, youngster Travis Boyd passed a puck which went off the skate of Dmitrij Jaskin and into the net. Though Jaskin got credit for the goal, that sort of redirect is more of a lucky bounce, as it would have been Boyd’s goal had the puck bounced in the same way off of a defenseman.
In the third period, on a pass from one of the greatest goal scorers in NHL history, Alex Ovechkin, Boyd finally netted his first career goal, as the Caps beat the Blue Jackets, 4-0.
