The Washington Capitals continued to be appointment TV in the NHL, as they took care of the Detroit Red Wings by the score of 4-1 for their 22nd win at home this season.
The Caps struck first almost midway through the opening period, as Dylan Strome shot the puck from the blue line past Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek. Strome also recorded an assist later in the contest.
The score was tied at 1-1 heading into the third period when Washington scored three goals, thanks to Pierre-Luc Dubois, Tom Wilson, and Connor McMIchael.
