The pressure on T.J. Oshie to capitalize on his many scoring chances this season was quelled only by the team’s success. He wasn’t scoring, but the team was winning, which made his recent slump easier to swallow even as his linemates heated up.
When that elusive goal came Friday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning, a top shelf strike from the slot on the power play, Oshie kicked up a leg, fist-pumped and screamed, as he was greeted by a similarly screaming Alex Ovechkin at the boards.
It was the winger’s first goal since Nov. 12, a six-game drought.
