4 - Number of times the NHL’s Hardest Shot competition has been won by a member of the Washington Capitals, including John Carlson’s victory over the weekend. Carlson joins Alex Ovechkin (2018) and Al Iafrate (1993, 1994) as the only Caps to earn that prestigious crown since its 1990 debut.
Carlson’s 102.8 mph blast not only beat Brent Burns, Steven Stamkos and Seth Jones Friday night, but also edges out Iafrate’s 1994 mark of 102.7 to check in as the second-highest of any Cap at the All-Star Game.
