The Noon Number: Shut Down and Shot Down

11 - Number of shots on goal to which the Caps held the Islanders in Game Seven (with just three coming from forwards), the second-lowest total in franchise playoff history - on April 9, 1990, Washington held New Jersey to just ten shots on goal in a 2-1 Game Three loss.

Since the start of the 1987-88 season, only six teams have been held to 11 shots on goal or fewer in a playoff game, with the Caps appearing in half of those games - the two mentioned above and a 2-0 win over Ottawa in 1998 in which they were outshot 36-11.
