25 - Number of points combined for Madison Bowey (12) and Christian Djoos (13) so far this season. That’s the most points the Caps have gotten from rookie blueliners since John Carlson’s debut season in 2010-11 (when he put up 37 points all on his own), and the most by a rookie duo since Mikhail Tatarinov (8-15-23) and Ken Sabourin (1-4-5) combined for 28 points way back in 1990-91.
Carlson shares a three-way tie for the top all-time performance by a Caps rookie defenseman, but both Djoos and Bowey already find themselves among the franchise’s top 20 first-year performers - Djoos at 16th, Bowey at 18th - and they’re in the top 10 among the League’s new batch of youngsters for 2017-18, as well.
