The Lobstah Strikes – Garnet Hathaway ‘Nets’ First Caps Goal

New Cap Garnet Hathaway didn’t come to Washington with great fanfare, but fans knew his name after Saturday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Hathaway scored the first goal of the game in the first period. He and his linemates, Nic Dowd and Brendan Leipsic, weren’t just eating away minutes as some fourth lines do. They were skating hard and generating chances. T.J. Oshie said they were the only line to generate ‘anything.’ Late in the second, it appeared Hathaway put the Caps up 3-0 before the goal was called back, but the effort was noted by everyone.
