Monumental Sports and Entertainment CEO Ted Leonsis, owner of the Washington Capitals, arranged for 200 of his employees to travel to Las Vegas to see the Capitals in action in the Stanley Cup Final, the Washington Post first reported.
The Washington Times confirmed that Monumental covered the cost of a flight, one night’s stay at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino and a ticket to either Game 1 or Game 2 of the Capitals‘ series against the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena.
About half of the invited employees took a flight Monday to catch Game 1 of the finals, which Washington lost 6-4.
