There are those nights when Madison Bowey’s mind wanders into the not-too-distant future, or those days outside the rink when he gets extra giddy, waiting his professional career to finally begin. This summer had been inevitable ever since the Washington Capitals projected the native Canadian as a top-four defenseman by tabbing him 53rd overall in the 2013 NHL draft, only two summers ago yet long enough for the anticipation to build.
“It’s definitely going to be a change, but it’s a change I’ve been looking forward to for a long time,” he said. “Some days you get can get a little antsy and stuff like that.
