The dream of a showdown between the Ottawa Senators’ Racing Prime Ministers mascots and the Nationals’ Racing Presidents mascots was first dreamed up when the Racing PMs debuted in October 2014.
“We hope that someday maybe there will be a race between — or an international summit between — the two sides,” Aaron Robinson, director of fan and community development for the Senators, said at the time.
In April, that dream moved closer to reality when the Racing Prime Ministers challenged the Racing Presidents to a race.
With the Capitals and Senators playing the first of three scheduled meetings this season on Wednesday at Verizon Center, some wondered whether John A.
