As the Capitals celebrate their 50th Anniversary, they invited all of the trophies they’ve won over the years (except for the Stanley Cup) to be on display for fans.
Before Friday’s game against the Red Wings, those who showed up to the Harry Benson Gallery at about an hour before the game got to meet Capitals defenseman and two-time Norris Trophy winner (best defender) Rod Langway.
At first, Langway just posed next to the trophy before the curator picked it up and handed it to him. I asked him when was the last time he got to hold it and he said it was the first time.
