The Capitals had every reason to phone in their second-to-last game of the season yesterday, with their top seed in the conference locked up and less than a week until the postseason starts. Despite all of that, they took to the ice at TD Garden against a Bruins team that still had something to play for, and that they may face in the first round, and sent a message: you don’t want to play us in the first round.
