Pheonix Copley Gets First NHL Shutout

Caps backup goaltender Pheonix Copley has only started 14 games in the NHL – 12 of those with the Caps, but got a career first in Ottawa on Saturday as he and the Capitals blanked the Senators, 4-0.

Copley made 35 saves – a career high – for his 8th win of the season.

In the final seconds of the game, Alex Ovechkin even passed the puck back to Copley before time ran out.

It was also the third shutout of the season for Washington, as Braden Holtby kept the puck out of the net twice so far.
