ARLINGTON, Va. – Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin, forward Evgeny Kuznetsov and defenseman Dmitry Orlov will represent Russia at the 2016 IIHF World Championship in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia. Ovechkin, Kuznetsov and Orlov is scheduled to join the team for Russia’s game on Saturday, May 14, against Switzerland in Moscow.
Ovechkin, 30, will be making his 12th World Championship appearance. The Moscow native has registered 59 points (32 goals, 27 assists) in 67 career games at the World Championship and captured a gold medal with Russia in 2008, 2012 and 2014.
