Assignments for Saturday’s NHL All-Star Skills Competition have been announced, and Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin will take one-timers for the Metropolitan Division in the Challenge Relay.
Additionally, Ovechkin will go against Montreal Canadiens defenseman Shea Weber in a showdown to determine the NHL’s hardest shooter.
While goalies generally don’t get to join in the fun when it comes to the skill competition, goaltender Braden Holtby will also be a part of the Metropolitan Challenge Relay team. Holtby’s role will be to take a full ice-length shot to close out the relay.
The Metropolitan Division will play against the Atlantic Division in the competition, which takes place at Staples Center in Los Angeles at 7 p.
