Things were set up for the Caps to lose to the Hurricanes, arriving in Raleigh for the second game in two nights, and a late scratch of T.J. Oshie, listed with an upper-body injury, shortly before the game. But they didn’t let them hold them down, as they battled through the adversity to pull out a win.
The penalty kill and Darcy Kuemper came up big for the team, and it was great to see Kuemper have a strong game after a rough start to the season. If the Caps want to continue to stay in the mix for the postseason, they’ll need their starter to play like a starter, and he did that last night.
