BOSTON — Capitals center Michael Latta went back to the locker room early during Washington’s preseason game against Boston after straining “something somewhere on his body,” Coach Barry Trotz said. When Latta left the bench with around five minutes left in the game, the team announced he would not return after a lower-body injury and would be re-evaluated on Wednesday.
Latta also went back to the locker room with around three minutes left in the second period, but when the team came back after the second intermission, he joined them on the ice.
