It’s funny, see, because no one was hurt.
During warmups before Monday’s game against the Oilers at Verizon Center, Capitals forward Justin Williams inadvertently flattened teammate Braden Holtby, who was stretching in one of the faceoff circles.
“I was skating backwards and all of a sudden I was on his head,” Williams said. “It happens. New guys, you know? You’ve got to learn everybody’s routine. Everybody’s got a different routine here.”
Holtby might need to incorporate getting crushed by Williams into his pregame routine after he proceeded to post his first shutout of the season in a 1-0 win.
