Marcus Johansson day-to-day with lower-body injury

WINNIPEG — Left wing Marcus Johansson didn’t play in the Washington Capitals’ 2-1 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday afternoon, and he’s listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Johansson left the team’s Friday afternoon practice in Winnipeg early, and Coach Barry Trotz said he would be a game-time decision for Saturday’s contest against the Jets. When Trotz was asked about Johansson before the game, he said he would play “unless he tells me he’s not.”

Johansson took line rushes in warmups, but after the team went back to the locker room, the team announced he wouldn’t play.
