Logan Thompson Signs Six-Year, $35.1 Million Contract With Capitals

Related Topics: Charlie Lindgren, Logan Thompson

Logan Thompson hasn’t even been a Cap for a full season yet, but the team has seen enough to sign him to a six-year, $35.1 million contract extension on Monday. The 27-year-old goaltender is now sure to be the starting netminder for several years to come.

This also means that despite playing extremely well the last two seasons, 31-year-old Charlie Lindgren likely won’t be back next year. He will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and is worth far more than the $1.1 million he’s currently making. Thompson, meanwhile, is making only $766,667 this season.
