NEW YORK – As the Washington Capitals dispersed from their stretching circle and broke into positional work following Thursday’s morning skate, assistant coach Blaine Forsythe shook aside his gloves, grabbed a handful of pucks and hunched over a dot inside the Madison Square Garden neutral zone. Centers Evgeny Kuznetsov, Jay Beagle and Brooks Laich joined him, like they had after every skate since the start of the season, when Coach Barry Trotz predicted faceoffs “are going to be a concern.” For several minutes, rotating between the three of them, Forsythe acted as the official and the Capitals took draws.
