John Carlson starts skating after procedure for lower-body injury

Defenseman John Carlson skated for the first time since a “procedure” for his undisclosed lower-body injury, briefly getting on the ice after the Capitals’ practice on Monday. The team announced that he would be out three to four weeks after the Feb. 27 procedure, and with him on long-term injured reserve, the earliest he could play is against the Ottawa Senators on March 22.

“I didn’t really do much to say one way or another, just part of the process,” Carlson said of his skate. “We’ll just keep going.”
