COLUMBUS — Defenseman John Carlson participated in the Washington Capitals’ morning skate on Tuesday in Columbus, but he will miss his 12th game with a lower-body injury. Carlson had been seen skating with strength and conditioning coach Mark Nemish before practices, but Tuesday was the first time he skated with the team with seemingly no restrictions.
“He’s fine,” Trotz said. “Getting closer. … As soon as he says he’s ready to go, he’s going in. I think it’ll be a couple skates in here and he should be fine.”
Carlson “got twisted up” in a game against the Montreal Canadiens on Dec.
