The Capitals’ number one defenseman has been not played since December 28th with a lower body injury.

Defenseman John Carlson, who hasn’t played since playing in a victory over the Buffalo Sabres on December 28th, is “possible” to return against the Philadelphia Flyers when they visit the Verizon Center for the Capitals’ first game in eight days.
